How we do our sales calls

The process we follow in our sales calls + the tools we use

Co-founder & CBO

I have done 120+ sales calls in the last 30 days and here’s the process that’s worked for me!

🔍 Pre-Call Prep:

  • In-depth research on the prospect (website, LinkedIn, current tools, recent activities). In our case, we also check their existing docs and videos to see how Clueso (YC W23) can enhance them.
  • Preparing a customized demo environment is crucial. I set up a demo account featuring the prospect's logo and branding, and during the call, I generate a video and a knowledge base that's tailored to their branding.

📞 During the Sales Call:

  • Starting the Conversation: Quick intros. Understanding how they discovered Clueso.
  • Focused Questions:
    • How did you discover Clueso?
    • What prompted you to book this call?
    • What aspects of Clueso caught your attention?
    • How do you currently handle customer/internal team training?
    • Current workflow for videos and docs creation? Who's involved and what's the scale?
    • Understanding their timeline and decision-making process for purchases.
    • And some other context specific questions…
  • Personalized Demo: Showcasing how Clueso can help with stunning videos and docs creation in minutes.
  • Open Q&A: Addressing any specific queries or concerns.
  • Identifying Reservations: Gently uncovering any hesitations they might have.
  • Next Steps: Laying out a clear path forward.

📤 Post-Call Actions:

  • Updating CRM/database with insights and next steps
  • Sending a comprehensive follow-up email with call recording, a quick demo video, a slide deck, relevant case studies, tailored pricing, and responses to any discussed requirements.
  • Collating new insights and feedback (every sales call is a valuable user interview as well)

🛠️ Tools I use:

  • Calendly for scheduling meetings.
  • Zoom for hosting meetings.
  • Fireflies.ai for meeting recordings and note-taking.
  • Superhuman to stay on top of all my emails and follow-ups.
  • Notion, Google Sheets as my CRM to track customer updates, status, and insights
  • Stripe and Razorpay for invoicing and payments
  • Canva for slide decks
  • Clueso (YC W23) for demo videos

Just for context, I'm the only sales person in our team and have no prior experience. If you'd like to chat more about sales, feel free to reach out to me here.

PS: My sales process has evolved significantly since I wrote this blog in Feb 2024.
